Brandon DuBritton is a bass trombonist, composer, and arranger currently pursuing a performance degree at Shenandoah University, where he is cultivating a distinctive artistic voice grounded in depth, versatility, and musical integrity. Recognized for his deep, resonant, and focused tone, Brandon is known among peers and faculty for a sound that balances power with nuance, allowing him to contribute with clarity and authority across a wide range of musical settings. With more than ten years of dedicated musical experience, he has developed into a well-rounded musician whose work reflects both technical command and thoughtful artistic intention.

At Shenandoah University, Brandon maintains an active and diverse performance schedule, participating in orchestral, wind, chamber, jazz, and contemporary ensembles. His wide-ranging involvement has shaped his stylistic fluency and adaptability, enabling him to move seamlessly between genres while maintaining a consistent artistic identity. Whether serving as a featured soloist, anchoring the low-brass section, or collaborating in smaller ensemble settings, he approaches every performance with professionalism, careful preparation, and a strong sense of ensemble responsibility.

In addition to his performance work, Brandon is deeply engaged in composition and arranging, using these practices to further his understanding of musical form, harmony, and orchestration. He has written and arranged works for a variety of ensembles, with a particular focus on low-brass and trombone repertoire. Brandon has written for Trombone Studios, contributing music designed to be both musically compelling and idiomatic for the instrument. Several of his works have been purchased, performed, and programmed by other institutions, reflecting growing recognition of his writing within educational and performance settings.

Brandon’s musical experience extends beyond the university environment. He has performed as a member of the rock group Joey D’s, collaborated with the Arts Chorale of Winchester, contributed regularly to church music programs, and appeared in numerous big band and jazz ensembles. These diverse performance experiences have strengthened his versatility and shaped him into a flexible, collaborative musician capable of adapting to a wide range of stylistic demands while maintaining a clear and consistent artistic voice.
